Updates
What’s new.
October 21, 2025
We’ve refreshed our macOS and Windows Desktop apps, making it feel more native on macOS Tahoe specifically. We’ve adopted the new window and tab styles of Tahoe, all while keeping it inline with the Framer interface too. In the process, we updated Electron to v38.2.0, addressing memory issues that could lead to poorer performance on macOS. We’ve also greatly improved exporting speeds across the board, and we fixed exporting of pages using Layout Templates. Last but not least, we also refreshed our app icon on macOS to make it feel more at home.

Introducing Protected Staging links. When enabled, only logged-in users with project access can view staging links, keeping your staged changes private. To enable protection for staging, open Project Settings, go to Versions & Staging, and select Protected under the staging section.

Introducing Right-to-Left Layout Direction. For locales with languages that are read from right to left, such as Arabic and Hebrew, this ensures the layout matches the reading direction. Framer now automatically flips your layouts in Stacks and Grids when viewing a site with those locales, so you no longer need complex setups with components and variants to switch layout direction. The setting is enabled by default for all new projects. To turn it on manually for existing projects, go to Settings
and check Layout Direction
. Additionally, when you’re on the Canvas, you can use the new Layout Direction Variable to adjust any property based on the active layout direction.

The October Update brings CMS support to Wireframer. Generate blog layouts powered by the Framer CMS, with all Links and Fields set up for you. This means Wireframer can now generate Collections, making it much easier to get started with your first blog in Framer. And Wireframer can now generate multiple pages too, and apply updates across pages, like navigations and footers. And that’s not all, you can find all other additions, improvements, and fixes below.

This update is all about improved speed and smoother workflows. Claude 4.5 powers Workshop now with faster and smarter suggestions. Workshop now also runs on all code components, not only those created with Workshop. We also added a root node type for Design Pages, allowing plugins to open on Design Pages just like on Pages, CMS, or in the Code Editor. Four brand new first-party plugins round things out: Recruitee and PR.co for CMS syncing of HR data, 3rd-Party Optimizer to improve INP with Google Tag Manager, and Text Search to find text in your project.
